Indoor-Outdoor Office Furniture Design for a Newly Constructed Parts Distribution Center
At its core, Southeast Toyota, a division of JM Family Enterprises, aims to cultivate lasting relationships with customers, business partners, and communities as a premier provider of products and services. As part of its latest Jacksonville expansion plans, the company renovated 12 buildings at Westlake Industrial Park, totaling 381,413 square feet of space on a 250-acre site. This significant investment supports their initiative to modernize facilities and find new ways to best serve Toyota dealers in the region.
To complement their newly constructed parts distribution center, Southeast Toyota needed an office furniture design that would support a variety of spaces, such as an indoor and outdoor café, collaboration areas, administrative departments (including a reception area), break rooms, conference rooms, private offices, workstations, and a wellness center.
As a leading Northeast Florida office design company, Perdue customized an office interior design concept that highlighted premium Steelcase products for the client’s office spaces where various job families work. Each department, including logistics, warehousing operations, and administrative personnel, caters to unique job functionalities and requires flexible furnishings for long-term comfort and enhanced productivity.
Our expert workplace interior design professionals worked alongside Evans General Contractors’ construction timeline to procure a collection of Steelcase products, ensuring shipments were scheduled for a timely delivery. Additionally, we provided Southeast Toyota simplified vendor coordination that supported the trade partners needed to complete their scope of work and short-term warehousing until furnishings were ready for installation. This streamlined solution enabled Southeast Toyota to have better agility through construction delays.
The office furniture design features ergonomic, high-performance seating, such as Steelcase Karman office chair and Coalesse Montara650 café-style chair, plus desking and storage solutions from Steelcase’s Currency for their private offices. Outdoor furnishings include Extremis Hopper, a slide-in bench with a backrest that also serves as a tabletop, and Emu Lyze chairs made with iconic wire construction.
