Flexible School Desk Systems Transform Learning Environment at Bishop Kenny High School
Committed to continuous improvement and providing a safe, structured environment for effective learning, Bishop Kenny High School set out to further its growth by renovating select classrooms and labs across multiple buildings on campus.
For Bishop Kenny’s latest renovation phase, the goal was to expand seating in each classroom and lab in the most effective way possible. The quality of facilities and class sizes are proven to influence student learning, and classrooms with space flexibility help increase student engagement – a driving factor in Bishop Kenny’s projected design.
As a premier Steelcase partner and a top Jacksonville office furniture dealer, Perdue paired its consultation service with space planning conducted by Kasper Architects + Associates, a full-service architectural and interior design firm. This partnership helped uncover the best products for more agile seating and better use of space. As a solution, Perdue provided a selection of Steelcase furniture, including Steelcase’s Node classroom chairs, which feature mobility for quick, easy transitions in the classroom and can support different learning modes. With a compact design featuring a tripod base for storage, a swivel seat, and an adjustable school desk, the Node chair makes it easy to arrange and rearrange seating.
“The customer service exceeded all expectations – their responsiveness and dedication truly matched the excellence of the products we purchased. The level of service we received was exceptional, reflecting a perfect fit to our needs,” said Todd Orlando, Principal of Bishop Kenny High School. “The technicians showcased their extensive experience with the company, paying meticulous attention to every detail. It’s reassuring to collaborate with a company that not only delivers exceptional products but also backs them up with outstanding customer care.”
Over three years, Perdue procured adaptable Steelcase products, such as Steelcase Currency Modular Desk System and AMQ Concur training tables, and converted the classrooms and labs with new classroom furniture for seven buildings across campus.
